Last week I went to Las Vegas for WPPI, a Wedding and Portrait Photography convention. This is my second year going, but this year I decided to sign up for a shoot out with Blue Dandelion Photography because, well, they're awesome. I knew it was going to be fabulous but holy crap. It blew my mind!
Downside to living in Iowa: No mountains as your backdrop. Just cornfields. The setting was stunning and we had such a great group of models! A lovely bride & groom who are real-life married and a few girls who played our "bridesmaids." Everyone was so fun and easy to work with. We could literally pose them however we liked and they did it beautifully.
We split up into groups and took turns shooting the models, scenery, details, the amazing flowers! I can't get over those flowers!! I actually snagged them and brought them home on the plane with me. It was a pain but man, was it worth it :) After the shootout, a group of us went back to one of the attendee's photography studio and hung out for a few hours. It was so great to share some time with amazing photographers and business owners. I learned so much and hope I have the opportunity to work with them again int he future. Thanks Blue Dandelion Photography, and everyone else involved. This was truly a successful and inspiring day!
